Good news for Delhi Metro travelers! The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has rolled out its novel WhatsApp-based ticketing system across all corridors. Metro riders can use this to purchase tickets with a single click. This will also improve passengers' travel experiences on the city's rapid transit system.
Introduction of a ticketing system based on WhatsApp:
Commuters on the Red Line, Yellow Line, Blue Line (3 and 4), Green Line, Violet Line, Pink Line, Magenta Line, Grey Line, Orange Line, and Gurugram Rapid Metro can now use a ticketing system based on WhatsApp.
The DMRC only implemented this mechanism on the Airport Express Line (AEL) earlier this year. For the successful implementation of the same, the Delhi Metro has cooperated with Meta and its approved partner Pelocal Fintech Pvt. Ltd.
How do I book Delhi Metro tickets via WhatsApp?
Passengers who wish to travel on the Delhi Metro can do so by following a few simple procedures. They are as follows:
1. Commuters must 'Save' the mobile number (+91) 9650855800 on their phone.
2. Send a WhatsApp message with the text 'Hi' to the above number.
Now, using their smartphone, scan the offered QR code to purchase metro tickets.
This simple WhatsApp chatbot is available in English and Hindi.
The DMRC's WhatsApp ticketing service has the following features:-
1. A user can generate up to six QR tickets at once.
2. Tickets can be purchased from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. for all lines, and from 4 a.m. to 11 p.m. for the Airport Express Line (Orange Line).
3. In WhatsApp ticketing, ticket cancellations are not permitted.Credit/debit card transactions will incur a minor convenience cost, whereas UPI-based transactions would incur no convenience fee.
